The aim of this article is to present and comment on the analysis of the cultural industry and especially cinema through the philosopher Theodor Adorno and filmmaker Jean-Luc Godard, to understand its political consequences as a critique of mass and consumer society. In particular, we will focus on the essay The culture industry: Enlightenment as mass deception, from the work Dialectic of Enlightenment (1944), and other Adorno's books, as well as Jean-Luc Godard's video projects Histoire(s) du cinéma (1988-1998) and Six fois deux / South et sous la communication (1976).
